Arrival in Cortona dominated by the splendid Girifalco fortress. Stroll through the streets of the historic centre, one of the most beautiful medieval villages in Italy which, perched on a hill, offers a wonderful view of Lake Trasimeno.
Travel to Castiglione del Lago, accommodation in hotel, welcome dinner and overnight stay.
2nd day
Visit to the historical centre of Castiglione del Lago, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. Possibility to visit the Palazzo della Corgna and the medieval Rocca which offers a breathtaking view of the lake.
In the afternoon, embarkation from Tuoro sul Trasimeno for a boat trip on the lake*: you will reach Passignano, a pretty village on the shores of the lake, the Maggiore and Minore islands and admire Castiglione del Lago from the water. Possibility of an aperitif at sunset. Return to the hotel and overnight stay.
Day 3
Departure for Città della Pieve, birthplace of Pietro Vannucci, known as Perugino, one of the greatest artists of the Italian Renaissance. Walk through the streets of the historical centre among ancient palaces such as Della Corgna and ancient churches, possibility to visit the Oratory of Santa Maria dei Bianchi with the beautiful fresco "Adoration of the Magi" by Perugino.
Entrance to the Casa dello Zafferano (House of Saffron) and the urban saffron grove, located in the heart of Città della Pieve. Tasting of bruschettas, cheeses in combination with saffron honey, saffron liqueur and grappa.
