Marmore waterfall, 2nd highest in Europe with 541 ft of height, has been artificially created by the Romansin 3rd century b.C. to solve the problem of floods in the upper valley. They made the Velino river jump down into the Nera river flowing in the lower valley, thus creating this incredible waterfall. Nowadays the area is a Naturalistic Park which features pathways and trails along the slope of the mountain allowing incredible views over the waterfall.
