It is the ring that allows you to discover the district of the lower Valnerina, the Terni and the Amerino-Narnese. In sequence we meet the centers of Arrone, Piediluco, Marmore, Terni, Stroncone, Narni, Amelia, Alviano, Baschi, Civitella del Lago, Melezzole, Avigliano, Montecastrilli, Acquasparta. In addition to the Valnerina, the route runs along secondary roads to discover the wonders widely described and immortalized in famous paintings by travelers of the Grand Tour: the Mar-more Waterfall, the Piediluco Lake, the Augustus Bridge in Narni, to which are added the Franciscan Speco of Sant'Urbano (a treasure of authentic spirituality), the naturalistic Oasis of Alviano, the Lake of Corbara, the Fossil Forest of Dunarobba, the Archaeological Park of the ancient Casulae, a Roman city of great interest. The route is challenging due to the presence of numerous climbs but uses many secondary roads with little traffic and unquestionable scenic beauty. TOT. 201 KM - DIFF. 3375 MT
DAY 1 • Arrone - Amelia 81 km DISL: 1479 m Difficulty: +++++ It begins with the ascent of Forca d'Arrone, known for being often included in the stages of the Giro d'Italia, and continues to the Lake of Piediluco to then lick the town of Terni, head towards Stroncone and get to Narni passing on a beautiful secondary road leading to the Franciscan Speco. After the Ponte di Augusto, continue on the Gole del Nera cycle path to reach Amelia.
DAY 2 • Amelia - Avigliano Umbro 69 km DISL: 1249 m Difficulty: ++++ You follow a narrow road surrounded by the typical "macchia mediterranea" with a beautiful view of the Tiber valley. You turn to Alviano and its natural oasis and then continue towards Baschi, lap the lake of Corbara and face the climb that leads us to Civitella del Lago with its beautiful view and then, on a undulating road to the perched villages of Melezzole and Toscolano and then arrive at Avigliano Umbro.
DAY 3 • Avigliano Umbro - Arrone 51 km DISL: 647 m Difficulty: ++ The stage starts passing next to the Fossil Forest of Dunarobba and then continue along beautiful ridges towards Montecastrilli and Acquasparta with beautiful views of the Umbrian hills. We then go back to Cesi to meet the Carslulae Archaeological Park. From Cesi, continue towards Terni, which you cross through the steelworks road that enters the Valnerina. After the Cascata delle Marmore you reach Arrone.
