Between 1700 and 1800, the Terni Valley witnessed the development of a unique page of the History of Art. Fascinated by nature, Mediterranean light and Italian landscapes many European painters created a huge artistic heritage "en plein air", directly in nature, representing in a realistic way, years before photography, fascinating glimpses of mythical places, historical, but also never previously represented.
The valley of the Nera river between Terni and Narni recorded the development of this new art of painting. Two days in the footsteps of the Plenarists to discover the symbolic places that have thrilled the artists, to compare the reproductions of the paintings with the landscape remained intact in many places, after 200 years.
