The Medieval Hamlet of Civita di Bagnoregio is almost uninhabited and cannot be reached by car. The village is perched at the top of a tuff rocky cliff surrounded by steep slopes and the only access to reach it is through a long and narrow bridge formerly bearing an aqueduct.
Walking through the tiny and streets of this semi-abandoned hamlet is like entering in the magic and mysterious atmosphere of a movie. Some shops are available selling craftsmanship, wines and food products.
Will then proceed to Montefiascone, perched on a hill dominating Lake Bolsena allowing ample and marvellous views reaching the Thyrreniam Sea shores on one side and the Appennine Mountains on the opposit side. The valley surrounding the lake, thnaks to its position and its fertile land, is ideal for the growth of grapes and olive trees. Local white wine named "Montefiascone Est Est Est" is quite popula (wine tasting available for groups of minimum 20 participants).
Will visit the Rocca Dei Papi "Popes' Fortress", the ROmanesque / Gothic church of St.Flaviano and the Cathedral of St. Margherita with its imposing dome (3rd largest in Italy).
