Orienteering has very ancient origins, prehistoric man when he went hunting, he needed to have points of reference and then to orient himself, sometimes he was away from his shelter many days and therefore had to find the way back.
Over the centuries the art of orientation has developed enormously, inventing navigation tools such as compass, sextant for sailors, mapping the earth, up to our days with GPS.
The course will teach you natural orientation techniques, those used by our ancient ancestors such as the sun, the stars, the plants, and those using tools such as compass, gps, knowing how to read a map.
- Overview of the symbology from the map and the orientation compass.
- Orientation technique of the magnetic north map.
