Torre del Nera is an hotel in an ancient village with Spa, located in the charming medieval village of Scheggino in Valnerina, a wide and flexible model that can be defined as a "village hotel", which gives priority to the historic houses, ancient traditions, characteristic alleys, exciting attractions and current activities of the village itself. Immersed in the Valley of the River Nera, a joyful watercourse that springs from within the Monti Sibillini National Park in a wonderful naturalistic landscape.
Just 10 minutes from Spoleto, in the green heart of Umbria, among ancient villages with evocative historical routes in the land of black truffles and centuries-old olive trees. This is where the Torre del Nera was born, an ideal destination for combining the tranquillity of the place with sporting activities, spiritual pilgrimages such as the path of St. Francis, or wine and food tours, wellness and the rediscovery of unspoilt nature.
Staying in this ancient hamlet means entering a tunnel of flavours, smells and daily life experiences, finding yourself staying as a resident rather than a tourist, but with an equal and perhaps even greater welcome from the local inhabitants who offer human warmth and many beautiful stories of life lived in these places.
The hotel has 13 rooms with a strong historical character, true works of art located in the ancient fortress of the knights, and elegantly furnished standard and deluxe rooms with bright atmospheres. In the medieval village there are 16 historical residences that, after an authentic and meticulous architectural recovery, are now independent prestigious flats with kitchenette or equipped kitchen, one or more bedrooms, bathroom, living room with fireplace or wood stove. A modern wellness centre has been created inside the fortress, where the philosophy of the ancient Roman baths can be relived. The Spa, a jewel enclosed within the ancient village, fits perfectly into the philosophy of wellness of the village itself, where unspoilt nature and activities combine to give our guests an experience of total relaxation. It has a swimming pool, multifunctional pool with hydromassage areas and water games, sauna, Turkish bath, salt room, two massage cabins and a beauty cabin.
The restaurant is housed in a former 12th-century fortress decorated with frescoes where you can rediscover the flavours of the past. The cuisine focuses on traditional Umbrian food with a choice of dishes based on truffles, homemade pasta, local meats, excellent Umbrian pork products, homemade cheeses and Montefalco wine.
