Protected natural area, Faunistic Oasis of Lake Trasimeno and Didactic Scientific Park, Isola Polvese, with its suggestive views, can be explored through naturalistic and historical routes. There are also beaches where you can spend a day of absolute relaxation. The Polvese island has an extension of 69.6 ha. The coast is located at 258 m s.l.m., while the summit reaches 313.4 m; in the eastern and southern part there is a vast wetland with reed beds that give shelter to various species of birds and amphibians. In the northern part there is a small forest (11 ha), mainly populated by holm oaks and downy oaks. The island is inhabited semi-continuously only by a couple of families.
The island has a bar, a restaurant, a guesthouse, a science center, and a hostel.
Owned by the Province of Perugia, the island today offers an example of environmental management according to sustainability criteria with organic agriculture, phytodepuration plants and energy saving systems. It is intended for the Educational Science Park and the Territorial Laboratory for Sustainable Development and as such, dedicated to research, experimentation, education and environmental tourism activities.

Program:

Meeting of participants and brief introduction on the use of canoeing and paddling technique. Departure from the beach of Monte del Lago, arrival at the eastern end of the Polvese Island with a stop and walk to the Castle, the Church of San Giuliano and the garden of aquatic plants (30 - 40 minutes). Restart and complete the circumnavigation of the island to the North beach and stop (40 min - 1 hour). Restart and return to the beach of Monte del Lago.

During the high season (mid June-August) a minimum of 6-8 participants may be required.
