MON-FRI 9.00 - 18.00
SAT-SUN only for emergencies

The village of Gallipoli, on the western coast of Puglia, and the backcountry preserve traces of the ancient richness of the district deriving from the trade of burning oil obtained by the waste of the production of Extra-virgin olive oil. A large portion of the oil used for lamps in Northern Europe before the discovery of electricity came from this area.
Leaving the seaside we will proceed inland to reach Sannicola: here is still possible to admire an ancient underground oil mill dating back to the 17th century.
Will then proceed along narrow secondary roads immersed in vineyards, olive groves and buildings made in dry stone walls to reach Tuglie and Galatone for a visit. Will finally resume towards the Ionian Sea. Will stop en route at the naturalistic reserve of Porto Selvaggio, along the coast, to refresh by its waters and restore with a packed lunch shaded by the pine trees. Finally will mount again on the bikes to pedal along the coast and finally return to Gallipoli.
Departure time is subject to variations according to the period of the year, the number of participants and their particular needs or requests. Variations will be advised in due time and well in advance.
