The "Vie ferrate" are paths equipped with metal cables, ladders and other fixed anchors such as wooden walkways and suspension bridges. These artificial equipment make the rocky terrain practicable or a path exposed to an untrained mountaineer and allow those who are not equipped with mountaineering technique to follow ledges, climb walls and reach peaks.
