The Marmore Falls, with its ancient origins dating back to the Pleistocene and with the succession of hydraulic modifications carried out by man starting from the Roman period and which in fact lasted incessantly until the beginning of the 20th century, represents an excellent example of how the relationship between Man and Nature is capable of marking a landscape.
An identity landscape that has always been perceived as exceptional according to the ample testimony left to us by the plein air painters and poets of the Grand Tour and whose naturalistic value is certified by belonging to the Rete Natura 2000 sites.
The Cascata park can be visited via 6 paths that offer many panoramic points and open onto the view of the Cascata and the landscape of the Valnerina. This is characterized by a suggestive composition of mountains, ravines and medieval villages. Along path 5, turbines used in the past in the hydroelectric power plants of the area are positioned like modern sculptures. The subsoil is a vast cavity made up of around 300 caves, some of which can be visited and fascinating.
The town of Marmore is located near the characteristic Lake Piediluco, where the Velino river flows which, flowing into the Nera below, with a drop of 165 metres, gives us a unique landscape setting.
The guided tour will allow you to admire the imposing waterfall from a privileged point of view, giving you the opportunity to totally immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the Park.
The specialized guides will provide you with general information on the historical-naturalistic aspects of the waterfall, the result of human engineering work.
