Nestled between Umbria and Tuscany, between Lake Trasimeno, the Valdichiana and the mountainous area of Monte Peglia, Città della Pieve is a village waiting to be discovered, cradle of art treasures and precious products such as saffron.

Day 1

Arrival at the country resort on the hills of Città della Pieve. Accommodation in self catering flat. Free time for relaxation and nature walks. Wine tasting in combination with typical products. Overnight stay.

2nd day

Guided visit to the "House of Saffron"  and the urban saffron grove, located in the heart of Città della Pieve.

Beginning of the course on the cultivation and entire production process of saffron with focus on the correct use of the spice in cooking. At the end of the course, light lunch with tasting of 4/5 saffron products.

In the afternoon, visit to the village to discover the characteristic alleys overlooking the valley, the elegant Palazzo della Corgna, the masterpieces of art housed in the Cathedral and the Adoration of the Magi, a masterpiece by Perugino housed in the Oratory of Santa Maria dei Bianchi. Return to the country relais and overnight stay.

Day 3

Departure for an e-bike excursion: a guided "slow tour" in the hills between Umbria and Tuscany. A route suitable for everyone lasting about 5 hours (about 50 km) through the Terre del Perugino. Splendid views open up over the Valdichiana from Città della Pieve to the village of Paciano. The tour then continues to Panicale, an ancient circular castle in a panoramic position overlooking Lake Trasimeno.

The tour then reaches the village of Piegaro, famous for its glass craftsmanship. Stop in a winery for wine and typical products tasting. Return to the country relais and overnight stay.

Day 4

Check out. Departure for a free tour of the hills descending towards Lake Trasimeno or to discover the lakes of Chiusi and Montepulciano and the nearby Valdichiana.
