Arrival at a farm in the village of Piegaro. Visit to the cellars and oil mill with wine tasting combined with typical products. Continuation for accommodation in a farmhouse in Città della Pieve. Overnight stay.
2nd day
Guided visit to the Casa dello Zafferano (Saffron House) and the urban saffron grove, located in the heart of Città della Pieve. Beginning of the course on the cultivation and entire production process of saffron with focus on the correct use of the spice in cooking. At the end of the course, light lunch with tasting of 4/5 saffron products. In the afternoon, a tour of the village to discover the characteristic alleyways overlooking the valley, the stately palaces such as the prestigious Palazzo della Corgna and the masterpieces housed in the churches such as the Adoration of the Magi, a masterpiece by Perugino. Return to the country relais and overnight stay.
Day 3
Departure for a day dedicated to the discovery of truffles. Accompanied by expert truffle hunters and their faithful dogs, you will walk in search of truffles and all the characteristics of the precious tuber will be explained to you. At the end of the excursion, a tasting lunch based on typical products and truffles. In the afternoon return to the country relais and overnight stay.
Day 4
Check out. Free time to discover the lands of Perugino, the hills and nearby villages such as Paciano, Panicale and Piegaro.
