Discover a relaxing weekend immersed in the flora and fauna of the Emilian lagoon. We will explore Comacchio's cycle ring in the company of ancient Salina and elegant pink flamingos. The Emiliano-Romagnolo Po Delta is a territory of harmonious coexistence between land and water. Here unfold the Valleys of Comacchio, a genuine and welcoming lagoon adorned with ancient fishing huts and dirt roads to experience the surrounding nature. An organized cycling weekend is the best choice to discover it: we will pedal and navigate extensively through this territory that has always hosted a rich fauna. It will be easy, between one pedal stroke and another, to spot entire colonies of pink flamingos and discover the fascinating history of the Po eels. And then, the discovery of the Little Venice made in Emilia Romagna: we stay in a splendid historic inn in the historic center of Comacchio, a dense network of canals surrounded by colorful houses and small bridges.
1st Day: Arrival at the Inn, overlooking the canals of the center of Comacchio. Dinner in the inn's restaurant with the guide and our new travel companions.
2nd Day: We gather energy and bikes and set off for the Ring of the Valleys of Comacchio: an itinerary that covers the entire perimeter of the Comacchio lagoon on embankments and dirt roads. We pass by huts in the middle of the waters and pedal on the Agosta Embankment, an ancient Roman route that connected Ravenna to Adria. We almost complete it and reach the Prato Pozzo Agriturismo, where we can have lunch with local specialties. Keep your eyes open: this is where the best sightings of pink flamingos in the Po occur! We pedal through the waters towards the eel fishing station of Bellocchio and then straight to the coast, first to Lido di Spina and then to the famous Lido degli Estensi. Then, straight to Porto Garibaldi with a cycle-pedestrian ferry, and then continue with a cycle path to the center of Comacchio. Route Info: 55 km, on asphalt and dirt roads
3rd Day: We wake up early, ready to cover a few more kilometers through the awakening lagoon nature. We saddle up and reach our boarding point: we set sail for a boat excursion where we will leisurely explore the wonders of this territory. Once ashore, we have lunch with a view of the Salina and finish our tour by returning to Comacchio, where we return the bikes. Route Info: 20 km, on asphalt and dirt roads
