A week on a bike in the heart of Veneto, among the most beautiful places in the provinces of Padua, Treviso, and Venice, pedaling on cycle paths that lead to some of the most famous Venetian Villas, walled cities, and the hills of Prosecco. Welcome to the beautiful walled city of Castelfranco Veneto, located between the provinces of Treviso and Padua. You are in the heart of Veneto, a region rich in history and art, and this town immersed in the Po Valley is full of history. Looking north, you feel like you can touch the mountains, while nearby a network of cycle paths takes you to visit the main walled cities and Venetian and Palladian villas for which this area is famous. And Castelfranco opens the doors to the famous Prosecco hills, with a... sparkling stop in Valdobbiadene and surroundings!
st Day: Arrival in the late afternoon in Castelfranco Veneto. Accommodation in a hotel and meeting with the guide and the rest of the group for the briefing.
nd Day: After breakfast, we gather to arrange the bikes and final details, and the journey begins. We will leisurely reach Cittadella, with its beautiful surrounding walls, famous for having the highest walkway in Europe. It is possible to visit them by walking at 15 meters above ground. After exploring the town, we continue pedaling towards the Brenta River Park, a protected natural area where cycling will be a pleasure. The river, still resembling a stream, creates numerous bends and islets, and its slow flow will accompany us to Piazzola sul Brenta, a small town in the province of Padua famous for the luxurious Palladian villa dominating its center and square: Villa Contarini. After a break for a guided tour of the villa, we find the Treviso-Ostiglia cycle path a short walk away, leading us towards Camposampiero, where Sant'Antonio da Padova lived and preached. In Camposampiero, we pick up the cycle path heading north, bringing us back to Castelfranco to conclude the first day. Route information: approximately 60 km, flat terrain
rd Day: Castelfranco Veneto and Asolo are connected by a splendid cycle path that we will take back and forth. The name recalls that of the lords who dominated these territories: the Ezzelini, the family that most shaped the Treviso area, leaving many historical sites behind. The destination of our day is the town of a hundred horizons, better known as Asolo, a walled city with a castle and noble palaces. Return to Castelfranco is expected in the late afternoon. Route information: 56 km with 250 meters of elevation
th Day: The third stage is dedicated to Padua, the City of the Saint, squares, and porticos, famous for Giotto's paintings in the Scrovegni Chapel and the second oldest university in Europe. Before visiting the city, we will take a detour to reach Villa Pisani in Stra, the most famous and important Venetian villa, a testament to the grandeur, splendor, and wealth that the Venetian Republic reached between the 1400s and 1600s. A one-hour stop is planned with the possibility to visit the park and the numerous rooms of the villa. Later, we will reach Padua for the city tour, rich in monuments, palaces, and squares. Return to Castelfranco by train. Route information: 55 km with return by train from Padua
th Day: Free day to explore the surrounding area independently. Alternatively, it is possible, during booking, to request the addition of an additional day of bike rental and a guided tour with our guide. Minimum 4 people. The planned tour will explore Treviso. Leaving Castelfranco, we will travel between the provinces of Padua and Treviso, reaching the source of the Sile River, passing through Badoere with its beautiful round square, until reaching the Treviso-Ostiglia cycle path. Along this cycle path and the bends of the river, lies the Oasis of Cervara, a beautiful resting area dedicated to bikes passing along the cycle path and a natural oasis where many animals and birds find refuge. Lunch can be enjoyed in Treviso, choosing from the local places that also offer the classic Venetian cicchetti. Route information: 66 km, flat terrain
th Day: Today, we will visit one of the UNESCO Heritage areas of Veneto, the Prosecco hills, a unique territory where the world's most consumed wine is produced. After a short car transfer, we reach Valdobbiadene where our tour begins; today, everyone cycles with an e-bike. We will pedal in the hills in continuous ups and downs, everywhere we look, we will be captivated by this wonderful panorama of hills completely covered with vineyards. Arriving in Miane, a gentle descent takes us to Follina, a beautiful medieval village where the Cistercian Abbey of Santa Maria stands out. In Follina, we can also have lunch. After a few kilometers, we reach Cison di Valmarino, a well-preserved medieval village dominated by the imposing structure of Castello di Castelbrando. The return will always be undulating through terraced fields and villages immersed in beautiful nature. Return to Castelfranco by car. Route information: e-bike 45 km, elevation 650 meters.
th Day: After breakfast, it's time to say goodbye
