The ascent begins amidst the vegetation of ancient, twisted stone pines, and then continues into the realm of the Dolomia, with its unmistakable profile.
Around the summit of the Averau, the view suddenly opens up to the five towers, the Tofane, where the Nuvolau refuge rises like an eagle's nest at the top.
From here the view sweeps over all the Dolomite peaks. Here there is a relaxing stop to enjoy a beer and something to eat.
We then descend through the 5 towers, with a historical stop between the old trenches of the First World War.
Returning through the forest, we again reach the Falzarego Pass.
