Discover a captivating circular route that starts from the historic Palazzo Federico Cesi in Acquasparta and takes you on a journey through the history and nature of the area. This exciting route begins with a stroll along the picturesque Via Tiberina, then meanders through scenic country roads as you head south towards the renowned archaeological site of Carsulae, located along the ancient Via Flaminia. After approximately 8 kilometers of exploration, you'll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in history with a guided tour of the site, led by an expert archaeologist, lasting about 1 hour.
Following this fascinating cultural experience, the path will lead you to the picturesque village of Portaria, where you can admire the characteristic square and visit one of Italy's first letterboxes. Here, you can enjoy a pleasant break before embarking on the return journey to Acquasparta, which you'll reach after approximately 4 hours, including stops. The route primarily consists of low-traffic asphalt roads, with some unpaved roads, covering a total distance of 18 kilometers and featuring a positive elevation gain of 350 meters.
