Explore Umbria's beauty to the fullest with an exhilarating loop route starting from the enchanting Palazzo Federico Cesi in Acquasparta. This cycling adventure will take you through picturesque hilly country roads, offering breathtaking vistas.
The journey begins with a visit to the picturesque village of Mezzanelli, renowned for its charming castle, and continues along gravel roads leading to the abandoned village of Lo Scoppio, set amidst the typical Umbrian scrubland backdrop.
Our itinerary unfolds to uncover Messenano, where we'll take a brief break to soak in the surrounding landscapes before heading to the stunningly isolated village of Macerino. From there, we'll descend towards Portaria, eventually returning to Acquasparta, completing an exciting route of approximately 38 kilometers with 1000 meters of positive elevation gain.
This route is suitable for cyclists of all ages and skill levels, requiring only a minimum of training. There's no need for any special expertise in e-bike handling. It's a unique opportunity to spend a day immersed in Umbria's natural beauty, enjoying awe-inspiring landscapes and the unique atmosphere of these historic villages.
